Stand Up Paddle Boards

Always a water dog, Winston surprisingly hated boats, anything that floated, docks, & bridges over water. We were gifted these ravesports paddle boards from my work for Christmas and put off using them all summer, because it would be time away from him. So, today we finally tried them out with Ivy. Our first time. Her first time. Ambitious I know. But she was such a champ! She hopped right on with me. We made it almost the whole lake until I got too close to a tree full of birds & she said, “see ya!” 😅 But I’m so proud of her for her first outing. I think we will have a really great time using these. This is a grief thing but I don’t feel sad doing this, because I know Winston wouldn’t have wanted to do this with us and because I don’t have memories of us doing this together. It’s the activities that he normally goes with us to that have been so hard to shake knowing he’s not with us and he should be. We miss him so much but trying to keep making memories with our dogs still with us 💔
